Summer Fun Ideas for the Whole Family

We all know that summer officially begins on June 20th. What would you say if I wanted to get started before June 20 with summer fun ideas for the whole family?

It doesn't matter whether you work from home, or are a stay at home parent, we all need practical ideas to keep our kids busy this summer.

Take advantage of sunny days by exploring all kinds of cool things, for example:

Plant a butterfly or hummingbird garden, or you can create a backyard wildlife habitat.

Another fun thing to do is look for shapes in the clouds. I used to do this all the time and found it to be crazy fun. If you stare at the clouds long enough, you can imagine just about anything.

Next up for fun:

Camp in. Put the sleeping bags on the floor and have a family slumber party.

Build a fort. I did that all the time when I was a kid, now I get to share the fun with my kids.

When the time is right this summer, go to a flea market or a garage sale. See if the kids are better negotiators than you.

Take a garden gnome with you. Take the gnome's picture at each destination you visit. At the end of the summer, create a scrapbook with his photos.

You know what I used to do when I was a kid? My friends and I would get together somewhere in the neighborhood and play Hide and Seek. I would hide in the most difficult spot so that no one would find me.
