The Many Businesses at M-50 & Clark Lake Road, Jackson

Many of you have driven past this little junction plenty of times over the years; some of you have even stopped here during one of its incarnations; many others have not.

This junction is currently known as ‘Stoyanna’s’, located at 5037 Brooklyn Road (M-50) & Clark Lake Road on the southeastern end of Jackson on the way to Napoleon.

Stoyanna’s is currently a catering business / ice cream shop, but over the years, this little corner had its share of establishments:

According to Water Winter Wonderland, some of the past businesses include:
1950s - Schafer's Delicatessen
1950s - Western Restaurant
1960s - Chef's Inn
1970s - Dot's Beauty Salon
1970s - Barbara Ann's Beauty Salon
1970s - Sharp's Biker Shop
1980s - DC's Pizza Parlor
1980s - Cheese's Pizza
1990s - Comet Auto Sales
2000s - Trio's Pizza

Then, in the 2010s, it was The Chocolate Moose, with catering and an ice cream stand, as does Stoyanna’s currently.

The owners/managers of Stoyanna’s have gone all-out when it comes to unique ice cream concoctions for the summertime. This past race weekend was their “Red Velvet Weekend” and if you missed out, here’s what you could have partaken in:

1) Red velvet cake topped with cream cheese frosting
2) Red velvet cheesecake brownie drizzled with peanut butter sauce & Oreo crumble
3) Red velvet shake blended with Oreo

Race fans flock here to and from M.I.S for good reason...it's good eatin’!
