Sparrow Hospital has officially unveiled their new $64 million dollar cancer center.  The 132,000 square foot facility, located across Michigan Avenue from the Sparrow Tower, will offer state of the art cancer treatment with the help of three linear accelerators for radiation treatment.

The center also has 40 chemotherapy bays in a room that will overlook a green roof garden on the second floor.  Visitors have a separate area where they can eat food or have a beverage.

The cancer center is twice as large as the existing one and will be able to treat 30% more patients.

Dennis Swan, Sparrow's president and CEO, said it was a time to celebrate not only a beautiful and technologically advanced treatment center, but also teamwork, faith, courage, hope and life.  Here's more from the Lansing State journal.
