Silver Bells in the City Friday in Downtown Lansing

It's all coming together this Friday, November 18, in downtown Lansing, "Silver Bells in the City."

It will be the most amazing premiere holiday event ever, taking place in the Greater Lansing area.

We're talking about millions of lights, thousands of people, and one very special guest. Silver Bells in the City will kickoff the holiday season from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. with a huge celebration.

You definitely do not want to miss the amazing "Electric Light Parade," which steps off at 6 p.m. and travels through downtown Lansing.

The Electric Light Parade welcomes the holiday season in the capital city with lighted floats and the arrival of Santa. The Electric Light Parade steps off at 6:00 pm at the corner of Lenawee Street and South Washington Square. More than sixty units and several high school marching bands will sparkle with thousands of lights as they make their way through the streets of downtown Lansing.

My wife and I go to "Silver bells in the City" every year because it's so festive and full of holiday lights, along with holiday cheer.

Immediately following the Electric Light Parade, it's the official lighting of the State Christmas Tree.

According to lansing.org:

At approximately 7:25 p.m., Michigan's Official State Christmas Tree will be lit up! This year's tree is a 63-foot spruce that will be harvested in St. Johns in Michigan's Lower Peninsula. The tree is donated by Mary Ann and Caitlin Beck and is the first tree that has been picked from Clinton County.

Thousands of people are expected for one of the biggest events of the season this Friday, from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Downtown Lansing attracts more than 45,000 people every year on the Friday before Thanksgiving in Lansing.
