There is a lot to do in Mid Michigan and the Lansing area. There are plenty of choices when it comes to food, entertainment, golf, water and outdoor activities. Sometimes my family and I will do a staycation in Lansing to be a tourist in our own town. That's always fun to do.

Gas prices are at an all-time high. Normally I like to take long road trips with my family to explore new scenery. Last summer we went to southwest Missouri, Springfield and Branson, MO. The gas prices were much better a year ago. The road trip was a lot of fun. We visited my dad in Springfield and traveled south to Branson for July 4th. Branson is a unique town full of things to do. If you like go-carts, this is the place to go. They have multi-level tracks.

I won't be traveling far this year. I'm feeling the pinch at the pump, just like you. What in the heck am I going to do this summer? I have a budget that I need to stick to. I am comfortable taking a trip that might only be an hour or two from Lansing. I'm sure that there is something within a two-hour drive that I haven't experienced. Maybe the best road trip is still yet to be had by me and my family? Ok, I am up for the challenge. Saving money on gas, visiting new locations in our beautiful state and discovering new places that have been right in my backyard all along sounds fun.

My concept is to provide you with suggestions for road trips that are within a two-hour drive of Lansing. There are some really good options.
