
Red Cedar Golf Course, Lansing: 1927-2007
The Red Cedar Golf Course once sat on Clippert Street and was a favorite golf venue for many. Lots of local golfers were pleased that they could play a quick nine holes, then go about their day.
The course opened in 1927 in a scenic section near the Red Cedar River. Par for the entire course was 34 with the longest hole being No. 6 at 371 yards.
Not only was it a golf course, but local radio stations were known to hold events in the wide open spaces and people loved to just walk the grounds.

Apparently, due to tough budgeting, the course was closed after eighty years in 2007. It has been transformed into high-rises, retail, the Hyatt House hotel, and office spaces. Now unrecognizable from what it once was.
