A proposed development for the former Waverly Golf Course has spurred skepticism from local residents.

At a public hearing for the $100 million proposal Monday night, many residents of nearby neighborhoods said they were concerned about how the development would impact traffic and safety.

The development would consist of 204 apartments, 60 multi-family duplexes, 76 townhomes and 100 single family homes.

Plans for the site also include 120 units of senior housing, a medical office, a restaurant and more than 45,000 square feet of retail space.

A few people at Monday's meeting said they were happy to see development on the property, but the vast majority were critical of the plans.  Here's more from the Lansing State Journal.
