Anyone down Jackson way remember Porky’s Hide-Away?
Anyone from Jackson even been inside?
Here’s some brief info on Porky’s, no longer around.....turned to rubble and replaced.

Porky's was located at 2400 E. Michigan Avenue.

Allegedly, Porky’s was a local “dive bar” that featured food and possibly (but not definitely proven) adult entertainment. It was open for some years during the 1980s, but no record of operation afterward – does anyone know for sure when it opened and closed? The name "Porky's" also brought to mind the 1981 movie of the same name, which I'm sure didn't hurt.

Looking at the old Porky’s building, it appears that there were maybe a couple of apartments upstairs, possibly used by the owner with the doorway in the rear.

After closing, nothing seems to have been done to continue, with no new owners or tenants in the upstairs apartments. Abandoned, Porky;s was left to rot and crumble.....and crumble it did, as pieces stated falling into the street. So in 2016, an emergency demolition was declared and the building was torn down.

The lot sat empty for a number of hears and was overgrown with weeds, small trees, and bushes. It was later cleared of all foliage, and even though no new building sits in Porky’s place, the site is now used as an entrance for a recent Dollar General.
