Michigan’s Historical Telephone Museum
Northwest of Flint in Genesee County lies the town of Montrose.
Within this small town you'll find the Montrose Historical & Telephone Pioneer Museum, located at 144 Hickory St, Montrose.
It's the only one of it's kind in our state and it features practically EVERY kind of phone & phone equipment, going back to the dawn of telephones. All makes & models, old operator switchboards, phonebooths and so much more.
It's a pretty cool place to stop during your Michigan roadtrip...and at the same time, teach the kids what it was like BEFORE Iphones, cellphones, et cetera..... yes, phones actually had DIALS and OPERATORS. Your kids will think you're making it all up until you bring 'em here.
The museum is open Sundays 1-5p and Mondays & Tuesdays from 9:30a - 3:30p.
Check out their website to see more cool stuff at montrosemuseum.org!
