A beautiful weekend in Michigan sent many people to the beach at Grand Haven State Park. So many people crowded the beach (ignoring social distancing) that park officials had no choice but to close the parking lots to keep people away.

The city of Grand Haven made an announcement over the weekend, where they said that the "overwhelming crowds ignoring physical distancing requirements" was the reason for the closing of the lots.

The lots at Grand Haven were to remain closed for the entire weekend to deter crowds as we deal with the coronavirus pandemic.

This was the first time EVER Grand Haven officials had to ask people to stay away, but they added in their announcement that they look forward to welcoming the large crowds to the  beach again after the COVID 19 threat passes. This is our new normal.

Stay safe, stay your distance, and stay home.
