Yeah, it bothers us when out-of-staters call 'pop' "SODA."

But there are some terms used by these 'aliens-from-other-states' that WE have no clue what the heck they're talking about. Examples?

You think you know what “cabinet” means? If you live in Rhode Island, it means something in particular you consume.

How about:
HELLA
HOSS
HOTDISH
JUMBLE SALE
SIGALERT
THE INDUSTRY
WHIRLYGUST

These are terms used in other states for items we Michiganders have completely different names for…some of these you know, some you don’t, and some you probably don’t even care if you know ’em or not.

Either way, it’s interesting to see the everyday things in Michigan that have different names in different U.S. states.....even though we know they're all nuts.
