Picture this, a midway opening in the heart of downtown Detroit with a huge outdoor roller rink, basketball courts, art, and a whole lot more.

Is this another way of saying people have been cooped up way too long because of the coronavirus pandemic?  People are ready to get outside and enjoy life altogether.

This wonderful midway is all set to open this weekend.  According to mlive.com:

Located right by Campus Martius Park and Cadillac Square at the corner of Monroe St. and Randolph, the Monroe Street Midway will feature four half-court basketball courts and one multi-use sports court, displays of original artwork, performances by local DJs, outdoor fitness classes, an outdoor roller rink and a concession stand.

This certainly sounds like a lot of fun to me.  For those of you who haven't made any plans yet for Memorial Day weekend, this might be the ticket for you this upcoming weekend.

Mlive.com tells us:

Monroe Street Midway is set to open this Friday, May 28 and run through this Fall.  Hours are Sunday-Wednesday from Noon to 9 p.m. and Thursday-Saturday from Noon to 11 p.m.  Along with food from the concession, there will be various food trucks on site.

If you like to rollerblade, play basketball, and enjoy art, you'll probably have a great time at the Monroe Street Midway.  I can't remember the last time I put on a pair of roller blades, but I do remember that it was great exercise.

Memorial Day weekend is just about here and it's time for everyone to get out and have some fun at the Monroe Street Midway.

Mlive.com adds:

"We are excited to debut our most immersive experience yet at the Monroe Street Midway and offer residents and families a safe and memorable option for outdoor recreation this spring and summer," said Ivy Greaner, COO at Bedrock.
