Outback Steakhouse in Okemos Closes After 15 Years of Business
How many times have I dined at the Okemos Outback Steakhouse over the last 15 years? Countless times without a doubt.
When you only live about 10 minutes away from a great restaurant like Outback Steakhouse, it's was hard to pass up an opportunity for dinner on a Friday or Saturday night.
Now comes the hard part, Outback Steakhouse in Okemos is now closed after 15 years of great service.
We've all celebrated birthdays and other special occasions at the Okemos Outback over the years because it was a great place to go when the time was right.
Everything was cooked to perfection including their main menu dishes. Outback had the best steaks, baked potatoes, fresh warm bread, delicious salads, and so much more.
Even though the Okemos location is closed, we can all head to the Lansing location at 617 N. Canal Road to enjoy all the great food and service Outback Steakhouse is well known for.
This from the Lansing State Journal:
Outback Steakhouse was a source of nostalgia for many in the community, said Amber Clark, neighborhood and economic development director for Meridian Township. But she also said its departure is as an opportunity for a unique new restaurant to move in across from the mall, in the heart of the township's commercial core.
I would like to personally thank staff and management for 15 great years in the Okemos area.
And on a side note: Outback Steakhouse in Okemos provided special luncheons for Administrative Professional's Day for several years which was put together by our radio station and Outback. Great memories!
