One Detroit Lions Player Goes at Deadline
The Detroit Lions trade Golden Tate to the Eagles for a third-round pick.
In his four plays years, Golden Tate has climbed all the way to number 5 on the Lions all time catches with 416.
Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford will not have to find a new favorite target, although Marvin Jones and Kenny Golladay offer him a couple of pretty good options.
Golden Tate also finished with 4,741 yards and 22 touchdowns,
But as is the way with professional Football, trading players around is a way of life.
The Detroit Lions signed another former Patriots play, cornerback Sterling Moore, who most recently played for the Saints.
Moore will have some work to do to make the Lions roster in the next couple of weeks.
Offensive coordinator, Jim Bob Cooter said that "you have guys that do different things well, you can sort of put guys in those spots. " Cooter goes on to say " obviously the more we do that, the more defenses know that and they try and make those adjustments.'
Next up for the Lions is the Minnesota Vikings, Sunday at 1pm.
