Her name was Trudy, and she was believed to be the oldest gorilla in captivity at 63 years old.

Trudy came to the Little Rock Zoo as part of a breeding program back in 1988. She was one of the last gorillas captured in the wild; today, North American gorillas are born in zoos.

Zoo keepers, who are heartbroken, found her dead Wednesday morning when they went to check on her. They say they will always remember her as the 'boss lady,' of her all-male group.
