According to WILX News 10, Your Breaking News and Weather Authority, school's in full swing but students and teachers returned without a state school budget in place.

Governor Gretchen Whitmer is holding a news conference today to give an update on the status of state school budget negotiations.

Michigan law requires local school budgets to be done July 1, but the schools don't know how much money they're going to have to spend because there isn't a state budget yet.

Earlier this year, Governor Whitmer proposed $15.4 billion for K-12 schools as part of her budget proposal.

Starting the school year without a budget has teachers worried for their students and their faculty.  Please click on the above link for more information.
