According to the Lansing State Journal, crews continued working at a proposed site for a multi tenant commercial center in Meridian Township, slated to include a Chipotle Mexican Grill.

The site is located at 2085 W. Grand river Ave., which was the former site of Leo's Spirits & Grub restaurant which closed in the summer of 2018.

The building was originally constructed in the early 1980s and been home to multiple restaurants before being demolished last week.

One of those former restaurants was Bennigan's. At one time years ago, Bennigan's was the go to place for great food and happy hour specials. Back in the day, everyone went to Bennigan's.

So now with Leo's torn down to the ground, redevelopment of the new site is organized by Okemos Retail Management.

Okemos Retail Management has proposed a five tenant shopping center with a drive thru Chipotle, an Aspen Dental facility and other businesses that have not been named.

Township officials said they did not know how much will be spent to redevelop the site. Please click on the above link for more information.
