The city of Jackson is doing some more good by now trying to help its own citizens and promote home ownership. The way they are doing this is by investing more than $2.5 million dollars in a new neighborhood with low-income housing and town homes.

The new neighborhood would be where a few empty lots are currently in Jackson's Partnership Park. According to WILX, the plan is to have 14 homes and 10 of the units will be town homes with 4 being town homes.

Jackson is teaming with Greater Jackson Habitat for Humanity and the Community Action Agency to bring this new affordable and safer housing to downtown Jackson. The city of Jackson has been doing a lot of work recently tearing down old and dilapidated houses to make room for newer and more afforable housing like this. Also the project will be helpful for 16-24 year olds as Jackson is giving them a chance to employ them or help them learn a skilled trade or learn more about construction.
