Mobile Parking App Goes Live in Downtown Lansing

I can't tell you how many times I've driven to downtown Lansing looking for a parking spot and not had enough change in my pocket for the parking meter.

According to the Lansing State Journal, you won't need to search for loose change before parking downtown anymore.

New parking kiosks will accept credit and debit cards as well as cash or change beginning Thursday.

How cool is this? A mobile parking application will also launch, letting users extend parking time via cell phone.

The kiosks are already installed throughout downtown Lansing. A display screen on the machines reads "new system coming soon."

Now all I have to do is use my debit card every time I park in downtown Lansing. Anything that makes life a little bit easier is a good thing.
