Michigan’s Upper Peninsula Celebrates New Meijer Store Opening in May

According to the Associated Press, Meijer has announced that it's opening its first stores in Michigan's Upper Peninsula

Meijer is expected to open the first store in Escanaba on May 22, followed by another in Sault Ste. Marie this summer

The Grand Rapids based supercenter chain retailer grew south into other states before expanding across the Mackinac Bridge.  It also has locations in Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky and Wisconsin.

Meijer is also planning to open two new stores in Indiana and three in Wisconsin this year as well as remodel stores in five different states.
