Now I'm sure many people will disagree with me on this but Valentine's candy truly is the superior of all the holiday candies and I stand by that.

The packaging is always adorable, usually features puns, and holds some of the finest candy treasures inside!

I remember one year my mom and I were out running errands together and we were getting hungry for a snack so we got a bag of Valentine's-themed mini York Peppermint Patties. They were bite-sized, pink on the inside and so delicious we ate the entire bag.

Sure, the typical box of chocolates may get old if you get it every single year but not for this gal! I love those things because it's like Forrest Gump once said, "Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're gonna get."

I often wonder, though, if anyone else shares my affinity for Valentine's Day treats and, if so, what they're favorites are!

Well, Zippia looked into it and by using Google Trends data they were able to figure out "what Valentine’s Day candy each state eats a disproportionate amount of."

In general, they found chocolate-covered strawberries to be the most popular choice and chocolate roses tied with M&M's for second place.

Only five states were found to actually NOT prefer chocolates, and that's where Michigan falls!

So what is Michigan's favorite Valentine's candy? Well, it's a classic, iconic part of the holiday, conversation hearts.

Those chalky, sugary, sweet little hearts surely are a great way to send someone special to you a cute little message...and, of course, it is fun to try to make them sound dirty.

All in all conversation hearts are to Michiganians what pumpkins are to Halloween...a stable, shining example of what the "holiday" is all about!
