Just what the doctor ordered...another bag o' bones. This bag o' bones is/was called “Skellville” - located in Benton Harbor just off I-94.

But has it closed permanently? Looking at Google Maps, it looks like all the skulls and skeletons have been removed. Say it ain't so.

For those not previously familiar with Skellville, the bones are not from real humans....Skellville is/was a collection of manufactured human skeletons set in varying poses and scenes, a skeleton souvenir shop, on-the-spot made-to-order skulls, antiques, a quasi-haunt and a garden supply shop!

There was also an audio-animatronic Elvis that moves, sings and talks...just like the present-day Elvis (as some Elvis die-hards would believe).

The whole area was a  “backyard bonefest of skeletal characters” on display at 2400 M-139, Benton Harbor.

Nothing here was too gruesome that you wouldn't let your youngsters see...it was just a piece of property chock-full of skeletons and skulls, none of them in provocative poses that one would expect a vandal to come up with.

Skeletons operating machinery, standing guard, hanging out, weird skeletal creatures, pop culture antiques, and more cool stuff were in the "City of Skeletons", Skellville, USA.

So is it gone for good or not? C'mon, Benton Harbor...let the rest of us know.
