Michigan’s Auto Insurance Guaranteeing Lower Rates for Drivers

Governor Whitmer signed a senate bill to reform Michigan's auto insurance system to guarantee lower rates for every Michigan driver, protect insurance coverage options and strengthen consumer protections.

According to WILX News 10, Your Breaking News and Weather Authority, here are some of the things this new legislation will include.

1.  Guaranteeing lower rates for drivers for eight years.

2.  Increasing consumer protections by banning companies from using non-driving factors, such as ZIP code, gender,marital status, occupation, and more.

3.  setting fee schedules for hospitals and providers to prevent overcharging for auto related injuries.
