Did you know there are just over 30 online gambling apps in Michigan to choose from?  They all have unique offerings, including many with casino and sportsbooks all in one app.

Personally speaking I am not a gambler, and I most certainly do not use any online gambling apps because there is always a risk of identity theft and more.

According to michigan.gov:

"If you share personal information with an unregulated gambling site, there are no guarantees your information won't be sold to or used by criminals," Williams said. "Identity theft is the most common complaint received by the Federal Trade Commission. In 2020, 1.3 million identity theft reports were made in the U.S., including more than 24,000 cases of identity theft reported in Michigan."

Sounds a bit risky to me. If you had to take a guess, how much does the state of Michigan make from online gambling?

Are you ready for this? Michigan online gambling brought in more than $200 million in taxes to the state and over $50 million to Detroit in 2021.

It seems that many Michiganders enjoy online gambling and aren't too concerned about the risk factors, which is fine, but we thought it would be nice to inform you of those risks.

From michigan.gov:

Other crimes are associated with unregulated gambling sites. The Federal Bureau of Investigations has identified unregulated online gambling as supporting organized crime through money laundering. By contrast, regulated casinos and online gaming sites must follow know your customer (KYC) and anti-money laundering requirements.

The best thing you can do to stay safe is to not take any chances on unregulated gaming sites.

There is the possibility of identity theft or becoming deposit theft victims. If you would like more information regarding unregulated gaming sites, please click on the above link.
