I did some pretty stupid things as a teenager growing up in Michigan—TPing someone's home or even stealing pop out of an open garage door. However, never, not once in my juvenile delinquent mind, did it ever cross my mind to steal a car and lead them on a 100 mph chase. But that is exactly what three teens did last week in Michigan, and now they're facing the consequences.

You can watch most of the chase below, conducted by Livingston County Sheriff's Deputies, with some help from the Hamburg Township Public Safety Department, where the chase came to its dramatic conclusion.

According to a Facebook post on the Livingston County, MI Sheriff's Office page, the chase began when deputies attempted to pull over a 2015 Toyota Camry that had been stolen days before in Grand Rapids, traveling eastbound on I-96 near Mason Road. Instead of pulling over, the Camry took deputies on a pursuit, reaching 100 mph.

Deputies eventually used the Precision Immobilization Technique (PIT), which the US Department of Justice describes as involving police cruisers making contact with a fleeing suspect's car on a rear corner panel, causing the vehicle to lose traction and hopefully ending the car chase safely.

Once the suspects were pulled over, they found three teenagers in the car. The driver was 15, and the passengers were 15 and 14, respectively. Officials took the suspects into custody and released them to their parents and forwarded the complaint to the Kent County Prosecutor's Office, which will review the incident since it involved minors and determine what charges will be pressed and how the case will move forward..
