McGone: Two Items Deleted From Michigan Mickey D’s Menu

Let's face it: there are several items that we miss on McDonald's menus in Michigan. I personally miss the delicious, sweet crunch of Grimace's head in McDonaldland Cookie form. Others crave the palm-sized convenience of the Snack Wrap, the unique tang of Szechuan Sauce, or even the 'sophisticated' flop known as the Arch Deluxe. Two items will be leaving Michigan, and all Mickey D's, seemingly forever, and I'm not sure too many Michiganders will miss them or even notice when they're gone.

Michiganders, it's time to bid farewell to two of McDonald's "healthier" options. Let's say it's gonna be hard to find a vegetable that isn't on top of a burger in a Michigan Mickey D's.

Michigan Mcdonald's Giving Up on Two Items, Seemingly For Good

The first item to get the boot is salads—all of 'em. The Wall Street Journal Food Forum asked McDonald's US President Joe Erlinger why the leafy greens got the ax. Erlinger stated that salads aren't what people come to or are looking for from the fast food giant. Erlinger said that salads could be returned to the menu should demand increase.

I won't miss McDonald's salads as I haven't had one since I began my boycott when they removed Salad Shakers from the menu. I really enjoyed shaking my leafy greens like a martini.

The next item on the McDonald's menu chopping block is the McPlant. Yes, that was the name of Mickey D's plant-based vegan faux burger, and, as you can imagine, NO ONE IS GOING TO MCDONALD'S FOR A PLANT-BASED BURGER. That must be horrible news for the five people who tried a bite.

So, there you have it. McDonald's salads and McPlant have been sent out to pasture to join Ronald McDonald and Mayor McCheese and will spend the rest of their days in obscurity. But seriously, who gets a salad from McDonald's?
