When we asked Facebook: "What TV commercial can you no longer stand watching?" a wide variety of ads were mentioned. From 'The Mayhem Guy' to 'Lemu Emu', 'Flo' to 'TV Dad', and Mr. Pillow to any pitch for prescription drugs. One 30-second spot was mentioned far more than any other.

It seems Amazon has struck a cord with television viewers in Michigan with their latest ad entitled "Tache". Olivia Wilde, director of 'Don't Worry Darling', was behind the camera for the TV spot. Wilde is an Academy Award nominated director who got her start as 'Thirteen' in Fox's show 'House'.

'Tache' features a high school aged girl in her room staring into a mirror at her very visible mustache. Her insecurity can be felt by anyone who has ever felt like they are different in anyway. The look she has while lightly touching the hair on her lip is heartbreaking.

Inspiration from Icons

While she is feeling her lowest she's ready to wax it and rip it off. Before applying the sticky goo to her face, she scans the room and is inspired by fellow mustachioed celebs, including Eddie Murphy, a black and white photo of Mexican artist Frida Kahlo, and a Freddy Mercury bobble head. That inspiration takes her to Amazon, where she orders the same yellow jacket the Queen front man is wearing.

Mustache Girl Becomes Yellow Jacket Girl

Remember when you were a teenager? There was always something that was going to make your life better. Whether a jacket, a hat, a watch, an earring...anything to distract from the the thing we were most worried people would judge us for. This is her 'magic feather' and this kid is getting ready to fly!

She struts, dances like no one is watching (even though everyone is), and glides into one of those uncomfortable high school desks we each spent countless hours in. She's smiling and digging life.

Maybe it's the dad in me, but this commercial hits me in right in the feels. Maybe it's raising teenagers in an ever more hyper-connected and hyper-critical world, I want good things to happen for yellow jacket girl! Heck, I want to find my own 'magic feather' and Freddy bobblehead.
