Voters in Ingham County's Meridian Township easily passed a proposal that involves fixing township roads.

Personally speaking, I'm from Meridian Township and I can tell you this, it was an issue that faced some controversy as Election Day approached.

According to WILX News 10, Your Breaking News and Weather Authority, the language of the proposal allows the township to borrow up to $35,250,000 and issue tax bonds for a period not to exceed six years.

The money will be used to improve and maintain township roadways. It is estimated that this would include roughly 150 miles of neighborhood streets.

Money will also go toward fixing 147 miles of neighborhood streets that does not include state or county roads. Please click on the above link for more information.
