A question for you my friend.

How do you know that I have never won a lottery jackpot?

The answer? Because I showed up for work today and I am currently writing this article.

Now don't get me wrong. I really like my job and the people that I work with and I love being on the air with you every weekday, 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Lansing's #1 For New Country, 100.7 WITL. Pardon the shameless plug there.

No, the reason I would quit my job if I won a lottery jackpot is that I could relax a little more and spend more time with my family and friends. There is also another reason I would quit my job. I always felt that me leaving my job if I came into a sizable amount of money would open up an opportunity for someone else to be hired for my previous job and then be able to make a living where they may have not had that opportunity before. It's kind of a pay it forward thing I guess.

I have played Mega-Millions, Lotto 47 and Powerball for decades and have won a few dollars but nothing that could be considered a jackpot. By the way, I have played the same numbers every time that I've played these games. I know what you're thinking, "Why don't go with Easy Pick or change your numbers?"

It's because I'm absolutely convinced that as soon as I do that, my numbers that have never hit big will then hit big. And to answer the question of why I don't buy extra tickets? Well I don't have an answer for that one.

So I can't win one jackpot, but what about someone who has won two? Allow me to introduce you to Mark Clark from Monroe County.

Lottery lightning has struck twice for Mr. Clark as he has won 4-million dollars not only once, but on two separate occasions playing the instant game called "$150,000,000 Payout", where you can win up to 4-million dollars, which Mark Clark has done...twice.

It's too bad that we have to social distance now because I'd like to find Mark Clark and shake his hand for good luck. But since that won't be possible, I'll continue to play my numbers every week and now maybe even buy the occasional scratch-off ticket.

Or two...
