According to the Lansing State Journal, former Michigan State University President Lou Anna Simon has accepted an invitation to testify before a congressional subcommittee that has jurisdiction over the health and safety of USA Gymnastics, U.S. Olympic and NCAA athletes.

It's unclear when Simon could appear before the U.S. Senate's subcommittee on Consumer Protection, Product Safety, Insurance, and Data Security.

Simon resigned as MSU's president on Jan. 24 after more than a decade at the helm of the university.

MSU officials confirmed last month that Simon will have an office inside Wills House, a historic house on campus that has recently undergone a $977,301 renovation.  Here's more from the Lansing State Journal.
