It's official, the condemned Life O'Riley mobile home park can be torn down, an Ingham County Judge ruled Wednesday.

Ruling allows the city to move forward with its plans to demolish the existing trailers and prepare the grounds for potential redevelopment.

The city of Lansing is expected to select a demolition contractor this week and could begin work next month.

Once the demolition of Life O'Riley's units and related structures are complete, the nearly 14 acre property will stay privately owned.  But the city anticipates the property will go into foreclosure in about a year.   Here's more from the Lansing State Journal.
