It was meant to tie into Leap Year and Leap Day as a really cool giveaway and promotion.

Miller Lite was set to give away cases of beer to the first 5,000 submissions at a special website to people who were 21 and over after the participants got a special QR code on the brand's Twitter and Instagram this Saturday, Leap Day, February 29th. A couple other steps were involved to claim the free beer.

However, according to MLive, Miller Lite has cancelled the Leap Day promotion due to the fatal shooting on Wednesday that claimed five lives at Miller's Milwaukee plant before the shooter turned the gun on himself, taking his own life.
