As far back as I can remember, the Life O'Riley mobile home park was home to many people in the Lansing area.  These days, it's completely abandoned and ready to be torn down beginning later this month.

Demolition of the condemned mobile home park is expected to begin March 27 and could last up to four weeks.

It's owner, William Whalen, will be charged for the demolition costs, according to the city's director of planning and neighborhood development.

On Feb. 27, an Ingham County Circuit Court Judge ruled in the city's favor, saying that about 80 existing trailers and other neglected structures on the nearly 14 acre property can be removed.

According to the Lansing State Journal, in addition to the demolition costs, Whalen also owes over $250,000 in unpaid water bills and taxes.
