Coronavirus is still around and in our lives but also the common flu will be back this winter and Lansing is looking to get ahead of it. The Ingham County Health Department is holding an event this weekend October 10th and will be giving out free flu vaccinations.

This event is helpful for most, because even though your health insurance pays for a flu shot if you don't have insurance you have to pay. To combat this and to make sure everyone has an opportunity for one the health department is paying for the vaccinations so they can be free for all. Getting a flu shot now will protect you during the winter when the flu is generally worse and protecting yourself from the flu can also help in your protection from COVID-19.

The free drive-thru flu vaccination event will be happening on October 10th from 12-4 p.m. in the parking lot of the Human Services Building located at 5303 S. Cedar Street in Lansing. To get a flu shot you have to be over 11 years of age. The health department want you to stay in your car for the event, but walk up vaccination will be possible if you don't have a vehicle.
