Jackson’s Former Odd Fellows Home & Hospital: 1880s-2010s
The old Odd Fellows and Rebekah Home that sat just west of the Westwood Mall in Jackson was closed and put up for sale in 2010. The property sat at 2388 W. Michigan Avenue and was sold for a measly $150,000.
56 senior citizens had to be moved elsewhere, and ended up at a just-built facility, RidgeCrest Health Campus at 703 Robinson Road.
Meantime, the former Odd Fellows Home has been demolished and the site has been transformed into an apartment complex called “Andy’s Place”. However, the Odd Fellows Cemetery just next door on the east end is still in place.

The Jackson Odd Fellows also had its own hospital, a very small structure that you can see if you scroll down to the photo gallery.
The actual year when the Odd Fellows building was constructed varies, depending what/who you wish to believe. Some say different years in the 1920s, others say sometime in the 1880s. I tend to believe the 1880s, as some of the photos seen below are from the early 1900s.
The Odd Fellows originated in London, England back in 1730.
