Michigan Music Legend Sues Hospital, Says He Was Mistreated

The lead singer, Alexander Morris, is suing Ascension Macomb-Oakland Hospital because the hospital grossly mistreated him.

What happened?

Four Tops Lead Singer Sues Michigan Hospital

In April of 2023, Morris suffered from chesting and breathing problems so he went to Ascension Macomb-Oakland Hospital for help.

Once he arrived, the singer had security concerns as a famous person would if they were in a public setting.

Morris claimed that the hospital staff refused to believe that he was a famous singer, and instead cited him as mentally ill!

Excuse me? What?!

The claims and mistreatment go even further than simply not believing him.

Morris also claims that the hospital staff put him in a straitjacket and ordered a psychological examination. According to the federal lawsuit filed in the Eastern District of Michigan, the singer was restrained for at least an hour and a half.

Morris' attorneys released a statement stating, "It was a terrifying experience to be in the middle of a medical emergency, to be placed into restraints, to have my oxygen turned off, my personal effects taken from me, and no help from the doctors and nurses because of the color of my skin."

If you thought that the situation could not get any worse, you would be gravely mistaken.

After all of that trauma and mistreatment that Morris had to endure, the situation was only cleared up when his wife arrived.

After Morris' wife talked to security officers, a nurse went to Morris, who showed her a video of him performing at the Grammys. Finally, the hospital staff believed Alexander Morris was a famous singer.

Once the straitjacket was removed and the oxygen was given back to Morris, the hospital decided that their only plan of reconciliation was to offer Morris a $25 gift card as an apology!

Excuse me?! Ridiculous!
