There are restaurants, and then there are RESTAURANTS. If you're looking for a dining experience that's out of this world, above and beyond, and if money is no object, we've got the place for you.

Our friends at Love Food always give us the lowdown on the best places to eat from coast to coast. This time they decided to kick it up a notch and break down the most expensive places to dine in every state. These places offer incredible culinary choices and usually leave the price off the menu because you shouldn't have to ask. In all seriousness, these are the restaurants that offer memorable dining your tastebuds will love, but your wallet may not.

"From old-school, mahogany-filled steakhouses to seafood spots right by the ocean, the US has some seriously upscale restaurants for diners looking to spend big on a special occasion. We’ve scoured the country for the most expensive restaurant in every state that is genuinely worth a blowout, basing our picks on the priciest main course or tasting menu, and avoiding spots with just one very expensive dish", Love Food said about the list.

When it comes to Michigan's most expensive restaurant, look no further than Detroit's legendary steakhouse  Prime + Proper where every meal is a masterpiece, every bite an adventure. With selections such as Ora King Salmon. Australian Wagyu NY Strip, and Golden Kaluga Caviar, it's no surprise it's a top choice and the most expensive.

"This swanky, modern spot has suitably swanky prices, with a wagyu strip steak costing a hefty $95 for 4oz. Slightly more affordable is the porterhouse, $149 but big enough to share, and the dry-aged duck a l’orange, $59. These are quality ingredients impeccably prepared, so nothing is cheap, but there’s a variety of wood-fired meats, raw bar specialties, burgers, and seafood to suit slightly smaller budgets too. On the obligatory caviar menu, you’ll pay between $45 and $275 for an ounce of the good stuff", Love Food wrote.

Whether it's a special occasion or simply a desire to indulge in the finer things in life, Prime + Proper is the place to be dazzled by the epitome of fine dining in Michigan.
