Discover The Magic: Build-A-Bear Now Open In Frankenmuth

In a world where the old-school toy store has become almost a thing of the past, and a few clicks of a button online is the norm, there are still a few magical places where imagination can come alive.

For 27 years Build-A-Bear Workshop has been living up to its original slogan, "Where Best Friends Are Made". The string of retail stores allows a unique interactive experience for children of all ages where they can create their new best friend from start to finish. The concept immediately was a hit and over the years the brand branched out with other items including candy, greeting cards, jewelry, stationery, stickers, and t-shirts.

From the very start, families would make the drive to the nearest Build-A-Bear for birthdays, special occasions, and even parties to experience the uniqueness that only the specialty store could offer. For years if you lived in Genesee County that meant heading south to the Somerset Collection in Troy which was the first Michigan location of the popular retailer. Later, a few more locations were added across the state giving Michigan 5 places to enjoy...until now.

The news is out that the beloved Build-A-Bear Workshop is now open at the Bavarian Inn Lodge! This family-friendly addition brings a whole new level of fun and creativity to Michigan's Little Bavaria. “We are very excited,” said Bavarian Inn Lodge Vice President and fourth-generation owner Martha Zehnder Kaczynski.

The Bavarian Inn Lodge took to social media to share the excitement of the opening day and featured a packed house eager to get to work creating their new cuddly friends. Comments indicated that this is definitely going to be a hot spot in Frankenmuth for creating memories.

"This is amazing! So excited for all of the new things that are happening and can’t wait for our next family adventure!"

"I can’t wait to bring my grandkids. We love Frankenmuth and we love Build -A- Bear."

Of course, in addition to the wide variety of outfits to choose from for your bear, there will also be German-themed attire to create your special custom Frankenmuth souvenirs.

You'll find the new Build-A-Bear Workshop in the Family Fun Center of the Bavarian Inn Lodge. Workshop hours are:

Sunday - Thursday: 8 am to 11 pm
Friday - Saturday: 8 am to Midnight
