New Lansing Breakfast Restaurant Opens in Former Bobcat Bonnie’s Space
The Lansing food scene is always changing, whether it's with restaurants closing or opening.
This time, we have a new restaurant opening. Lansing can now welcome The Morning Post to the food scene.

The Morning Post Opens in Lansing
The Morning Post is a breakfast joint whose first location opened in the Brookfield Plaza in East Lansing in December 2024. This second location for The Morning Post opened at 637 E Michigan Avenue at the end of September. If that address sounds vaguely familiar, that's because it's the site of the former Clara's and, most recently, Bobcat Bonnie's (which closed in June 2025).

You can expect to find all the same delicious offerings from the East Lansing location at the new Lansing location, including those deliciously decadent bananas foster pancakes they serve.
Also, like the East Lansing location, The Morning Post plans to share the space with D'Nulffo's Seafood & Chophouse. When that opens, both restaurants will share the same building but they each have their own space and operate during different business hours.
We first heard about The Morning Post coming to this historic former train station back in May this year. Now, the wait is over—at least for one restaurant—as The Morning Post is now open and serving breakfast.
The Morning Post Joins Lansing’s Growing Food Scene
The Morning Post is one in a long line of restaurants that have opened in Greater Lansing in 2026. So far, over 30 restaurants have opened their doors, and there are still more on the way. You can check out that list HERE.
Stay hungry, Lansing.
