It seems as if you can't turn around without hitting the newest scam hitting the area.

Watch Out For This Scam Mid-Michigan

On a daily, I am weeding out my emails, making sure I don't miss anything, but also making sure I don't fall for the latest scam out there today. A lot of scammers are getting more and more evolved, trying harder and harder to get information from you that you don't want to lose.

On average, I receive around 10 or so spam emails per day in my work email, let alone my personal email as well.

There's another scam that is circulating around, and a lot of it is as simple as a text now-a-days.

Below is an example of a scam that you could see here in the Mid-Michigan area. What starts as a simple text asking in your interest in something, can spiral you into a hole of darkness you may not be able to get yourself out of.

While, not all texts or emails or scams, some companies attempt to reach out to either network or recruit. However, I've noticed an uptick in text messages recently, even just messages that say, "Hey Janet, I'm lost, can you help?"

It seems little, but sometimes responding to these messages opens a line of communication that could put yourself in harms way.
