Three Michigan Plates From The Past Are Coming Back!
Two years ago Michigan brought back the classic license plate "Water-Winter Wonderland"
I moved back home to Michigan right when this plate came back out and I had to go with this one.
Thanks to Michigan lawmakers three more classic license plates are also coming back.
Decades later, three classic Michigan license plates will return
The Michigan Legislature passed Senate Bill 464 which means that soon three classic Michigan license plates will be making a comeback.
What License Plates Will Return?
These are the three license plates that will be available to Michigan drivers.
- Michigan’s 1976 red, white, and blue bicentennial plate, which will be updated for America’s 250th anniversary in 2026.
- A former standard black plate with white text in use from 1979 - 1983.
- A former standard blue plate with white text in use from 1983 - 2007.
Three Michigan Plates From The Past Are Coming Back!
As of now, these three license plates are only found on cars from the years the plates were in service, but Thanks to Sen. Mallory McMorrow's bill there will be new license plate pressings available for an extra $55 per vehicle at Secretary of State branches.
$50 goes toward fixing Michigan’s roads, and $5 goes to the Secretary of State's office.
