A man who allegedly entered the Kennedy compound in Hyannis Port, Mass., on Tuesday (July 15) told police he was there looking for Katy Perry -- as well as John F. Kennedy.

No, the late president wasn't there and neither was Katy -- she was performing that night in Montreal on her Prismatic World Tour. There is no clear explanation for why the suspect thought the singer would be at the residence, but Barnstable, Mass., police report that the man, 53-year-old James LaCroix, seemed "detached from reality."

LaCroix entered the famous home base of America's royal family around 6:30 in the evening and started cooking dinner, police say. The 16-year-old son of Ted Kennedy Jr. arrived home and thought that LaCroix was a houseguest. Police were called when the boy's father telephoned the house around 9PM and LaCroix answered the phone. LaCroix was charged with breaking and entering after officers arrived at the home and found him sitting on a couch and reading a book.

While Perry was out of the country and far from any potential harm, this latest celebrity home intrusion comes the same day that scary new details of Sandra Bullock's stalking incident came to light. In that case, a man was arrested for entering her house while she was home.
