According to WILX, the Lansing City Pulse and Lansing Entertainment and Public Facilities Authority (LEPFA)  announced the cancellation on Thursday. This year's Margarita Festival would have been the third one and was supposed to take place on May 29th at the Lansing Center's Riverfront Plaza.

At last year's Margarita Festival there was food, entertainment, as well as margaritas! This year's was supposed to feature over a dozen different types of margaritas for patrons to try. The City Pulse as well as LEPFA hope that the festival will happen next year.

The President and CEO of the LEPFA Scott Keith said about the cancellation,

"We are very disappointed that we are unable to hold this event for our community. But we know it’s the right decision based on the information we have today in order to protect the health and welfare of our event participants, attendees, partners, sponsors and our team. Please remember to support your locally owned Greater Lansing area restaurants during the Coronavirus shutdown by ordering take out for pick-up or delivery.”
