Horror Movie Filmed in Flint Makes World Premiere in Local Theater
Writing this post is right up my alley because I am a huge horror movie fan. I started watching horror movies when I was a kid and haven't been the same since. Lol
When I was a kid, I remember watching a movie called "The Creature From the Black Lagoon." Back then it was really scary, today, people would laugh at it because its a very outdated cheesy non-scary movie.
Take a look at the movie trailer from 1954:
Are you done laughing yet? Other scary movies that I remember as kid were Frankenstein and the Wolfman. At the time, scary, now just comedy.
Over the years I've watched countless scary movies including all of the Halloween, Friday the 13th, and Freddie Kruger movies.
There's something spine tingling about watching scary movies or for that matter, filming your own horror movie.
That's exactly what one person did in Flint, Michigan. He filmed his own horror movie and now the locals we'll get to watch its world premiere in a Flint theater.
The name of the film is called "Half Dead Fred." The world premiere will take place on Sunday, August 7 at 7 p.m. at the Capitol Theater.
Who's responsible for writing and producing this horror film? His name is Bron Theron. Bron is very excited to show this horror movie in the city where he filmed it, and yes that would be Flint.
Mlive.com tells us:
“It has been a great adventure filming in Flint and now I am proud to show the film for the locals,” said Theron. “I am happy I was able to get local talent for the project and this movie might be jumpstarting another film in the future. This is the world premiere of the film. We are in talks with a few festivals but this will be the first time the general public will view it.”
Can't wait to see this movie. I plan on driving to Flint to check it out for myself. I love the fact that someone actually took the time to film a horror movie right here in Flint, Michigan.
So what is "Half Dead Fred" about? Mlive.com tells us:
The film centers around Freddie Nash (Nemec), an alcoholic who was in a car crash which killed his 9-year-old son. Since the accident, Nash has become a medium detective, able to talk to the dead. Nash, who is from Los Angeles, comes to Flint to try and solve a murder.
