These days we have a lot of time on our hands due to the coronavirus pandemic. So we thought it would be fun to give you several hobbies that are cheap and fun!

Let's begin with our first hobby:

Camping is a great hobby to pair with hiking and it's not that expensive.

If you're a beginner, all you need is a tent, sleeping bag, firewood, and fire starting materials. A small tent can be purchased for around $30.

Another hobby that's cheap and fun:

Playing music. Have you ever wanted to learn how to play the piano, or guitar, or how about a violin? Many tutorials for beginners are available online.

You can't beat exercising for a great hobby. It will get you into better physical and mental shape than sitting on the couch snacking all day. You can get your own weights or learn how to do body weight exercises.

How about spending time in the kitchen? This is something I would like to do more often. I have no patience when it comes to the kitchen!

Spending time in the kitchen can make some people miserable, but others Love it when they're experimenting with different ingredients to make the perfect dish.

What about playing board games with the family? If you buy a board game for $30 and play it with your family five times, that's $6 of entertainment for one night. Most board games are timeless, so it's just a matter of finding one everyone can enjoy. My suggestion: Monopoly!

Reading is another great hobby. Instead of buying books, try borrowing them from the library. Many libraries continue to expand their digital selections. Would you like more cheap and fun hobbies to choose from? The Balance.com
