Headed to Wharton Center at MSU in 2022? Bring This With You

On Saturday, MSU laid out new guidelines for anyone wishing to attend a ticketed event. Customers will need to show either proof of vaccination or negative test results.
If customers decide to show a test, the test must be a PCR or a medically-administered rapid test stamped no more than 72 hours before the event.
Home tests will not be accepted. The policy applies to all events on campus, including sports. (WILX)

Honestly, this shouldn't come as a surprise. A policy was already in place. This is just the evolution of said policy.

It is a foregone conclusion that most entertainment venues will have some sort of mask policy in place. The Wharton Center is no exception. I just happened to have waltzed in and forgotten my mask (waltzed in...see what I did there). Luckily, they provide them for their guests.

For the record, below is their mask policy at The Wharton Center (which has now been updated with the latest covid safety protocols to match the guidelines at Michigan State University).

As of January 1, 2022, Wharton Center will require patrons, ages 12 and older, to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours of the event. MSU students, faculty, and staff may show their university id to show they are compliant. Patrons ages 11 and under are not required to be vaccinated or tested, however, they must be accompanied by an adult who meets the above requirements. Patrons who cannot provide the required information will not be allowed to enter the venue.

December 31st, it was announced that the spring semester will start remotely at MSU.

A press release from the Wharton Center also stated that MSU will be requiring updated safety protocols for most events on campus.

Michigan State University announced today that it will begin requiring proof of vaccination or a recent negative COVID-19 test for athletic, music, art, and theatre events on campus.
