Well, here's a new haunted one I never heard of before: the Berwyn Senior Citizen Center in Dearborn Heights.

Now before anyone starts making cracks like “those aren't ghosts, those are old people”, at least hear what the supposed haunting is all about.

First of all, there are many schools – elementary and high schools – that have the same spooky story, about a former janitor or maintenance man who haunts the school years after his death. My old high school had the same legend.

When the Berwyn Senior Citizen Center used to be the Berwyn Elementary school, this  legend began. Sometime around 1983, the school janitor  - for some reason or another - hung himself in the room that has since been turned into the senior center library. Spurned lover? Broke? Laid off? The reason for the hanging could be anything.

This haunted legend is not just spread by the neighborhood kids, but the senior citizens themselves. According to ghostquest.net, young and old alike have heard “keys rattling, tapping on the glass of the library windows, moaning, and sometimes (they see) a figure or a face in the library's windows”.

This is sure a new one on me...I wonder how recent this rumor began?

I think it would behoove any ghostbuster out there to make the trip to the senior center and talk to the old folks. That could give you more insight than just some urban legend that may be nothing but total BS.
