Gwen Stefani Makes a Surprising Appearance in Midland, Michigan

Midland locals received a surprise celebrity sighting over the weekend.

Wouldn't you know it...singer Gwen Stefani made a stop through town on Saturday, August 13th. While there, she stopped at a local pizza place called Pizza Sam's. Check out their lovely Facebook post below.

What's more, Stefani also stopped at the Midland Mall.

Pizza Sam's employees and fans at the mall got to take pictures with Stefani and noted that she didn't have a troupe of security people with her, and that "she was friendly, like a normal, down-to-earth person." When it comes to the occasional celebrity sighting, I think we can all get a bit starry-eyed, but it's always cool to learn that celebrities are just "normal" people too.

Celebrity Sightings in Michigan

If you were surprised to hear about Gwen Stefani's sighting in Midland, don't be. Husband and singer Blake Shelton was in town to perform at Soaring Eagle Casino and Resort that night (Saturday, August 13th). Apparently, she's been joining him on tour a bit more often, and she came with him to his stop in Michigan. Not only that, but she performed with him on stage as well!

About halfway through his set, Blake Shelton started singing to his duet "Nobody But You" when Gwen Stefani entered from stage left. The crowd went crazy because it was an absolute surprise that she was there. There was no hint, no introduction, just her taking the stage and starting to sing along to their duet. It was very sweet to see how they sang to each other. From there, they sang together for their other duet, "Happy Anywhere". Check out pictures of their duet below.

I love hearing about cool celebrity encounters, and this was definitely one of them. Do you know what's surprising, though?
