Another Roadside Attraction, The Firemen’s Memorial: Roscommon, Michigan
The Michigan Firemen's Memorial is one of those roadside attractions that slips under the radar for many people...which is unfortunate, for our firefighters are worth honoring and remembering.
This memorial is located at 1295 E. Robinson Lake Road, Roscommon, just east of Higgins Lake off I-75.
The memorial has its own wall, packed with the names of firefighters who lost their lives in the line of duty. As the marker states, they “hold devotion to duty above personal risk”.
The Michigan State Firemen's Association was formed in 1875 as a way for firefighters to bond and share experiences.
The MSFA is always on the lookout for names they may have missed to put on the memorial wall. If you know of someone who should be remembered here, make sure you contact them on their Facebook page.
Take a look at the photos below of the memorial!
