It was only a couple of weeks ago that I was telling the story about how I was listening to the police scanner and someone called in a traffic accident saying that someone had crashed into the Finley's on South Cedar Street when it really was only the mural on the side of the building. (You can read more about that story by clicking here.) That was on February 11th and now, on February 27th, the building (and the really cool wall mural) are gone.

Demolition work started on Tuesday afternoon at Finley's Grill and Smokehouse in South Lansing. The restaurant at the corner of Cedar Street and Edgewood Boulevard closed in August of 2018. They had been serving the Lansing area for 48 years. By the way, the Finley's Grill and Smokehouse on West Saginaw Highway in Lansing is still open. (If you're worried about where you'll get your free birthday steak.)

Unconfirmed reports on Facebook say that there will be a new Panera Bread at that location now. That rumor may be because of this sign?
